I GOT INTO BATES!!!!

Thank the god's of college admissions! I was really scared earlier this week when I got a rejection letter from Brandeis that all the schools I applied to were too competitive...But now I know that I was accepted at my favorite school and it feels goooooooooooood.

wow. There is a good possibility that I will be going to Bates now.... weird...exciting...awesome...4 years in Lewiston? Who ever would have thought.

Oh my God that's amazing! Bates is one of the schools that I'm considering applying to next year! What is it about Bates that makes it your favorite? I take it that you've visited... what's the campus like?

Here is the low down:
Bates is my favorite school because it is academically challenging without being offensively pretentious. The town Bates is in (Lewiston, ME) is not particularly awesome. It's kind of a run down mill town. BUT the campus itself is really pretty. Out of all the schools I visited Bates Students were the friendliest (chatting up tour groups and sitting with prospective students in the dining hall). The school is also writing intensive. They have one of the best study abroad programs where you can go just about anywhere in the world, as long as you can relate it to your studies. The professors are knowledgeable without being intimidating and seem to have a real interest in their students. Also, the fact that SAT scores are optional was a plus...I didn't have the best scores on standardized tests, but even f I did, I like a school that looks at how I have contributed to my high school and my academic record.
Both my parents went to Bates too....so maybe it is a genetic attraction:)
But, yea I am on a total Bates kick right now so if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

And I love your Icon! A Hard Day's Night is AMAZING!

Awesome, thanks! Even though you said it's writing intensive (indicating strong English, journalism, communications, I presume), do you have any idea if it's also strong in the science departments?

Haha, thanks. Every time I see this frame I just crack up.
